Library / Biblioteca
The John Muir Library is nestled between classrooms on the fourth floor with exquisite views of the city.
Recently remodeled in 2016 with new furniture, shelving and updated titles, the library has become a hub for John Muir students to follow their reading interests, create and learn. The library has a very diverse collection of books that reflect the diversity of our community, including a Spanish bilingual collection. Our students visit on a weekly basis with their classes. Students in the upper grades have the opportunity to join craft club or visit the library during lunch.
Ms. Nokes, our fabulous librarian, works hard to ensure our scholars have a safe, welcoming library to enjoy literature, learn to research topics and explore and be creative. She also partners with the San Francisco Public Library (https://sfpl.org/) to ensure all our kids have library cards in order to access books and technology after school, on the weekends and in the summer! Don't forget that April 4th is school librarian day!
The library is open from 8:40am to 3:50pm Monday through Wednesday and Friday. We welcome volunteers. Check in at the office with Ms. Desiree, our Family Liaison, for more information. Come visit!
